The Big Six!

While viewing this post, you may feel as though you are experiencing some major de ja vu or that you are perhaps, seeing double. Your eyes do not deceive you--we actually had TWO Chuck E Cheese birthday parties this year! Major points for originality!

We started off the day with Krispy Kreme donuts for Jake's class (chocolate with sprinkles!). I also got the opportunity to read to the classroom. We read Jake's special book My Very Own Name.

"Happy Birthday to you....cha cha cha!"
Now onto Chuck E Cheese!

The Mario and Luigi cake! My mother found every Super Mario Bro. character from an ebay store in Hong Kong. When we got them in the mail I knew they would make perfect cake toppers for Jake's birthday. I enjoyed making this one and I thought it turned out pretty good.

Please note the Mario and Luigi emblems on the cupcakes.

These balloons became the inspiration for the birthday cake.

Happy Birthday, Jake!!

Jake's buddy Chambers.

Bo and Buddy came all the way from Starkville!!
We couldn't imagine a party without these two!

Ben and Jacob still in their Kripsy Kreme hats from the morning party.

Bo

The moms

Davis and Emmie!! What would our party be without the Cummins Family?!

Bon Bon...Keeper of Reid. I don't know what I would do without her help!!!

Jake won a free cotton candy with this game!! That was good news for me!

Mr. Patton Kincaid

Time to start the party. Notice the "Luigi" plates!

Sweet Reidy!!

Partyin' with The Cheese!

Baby Luke hittin' the birthday party scene for the first time.
(if only his mother understood just how many children birthday parties she will have to attend in her lifetime. It would blow her mind!!)

Sweet Ellen

I have no idea what he was after...there is no telling with Jake!

Time to crown the king!

Who wouldn't like an inflatable crown filled with tokens!

I love this picture!

Time to blow out the candles....cha cha cha!

Happy Birthday, my sweet boy!

One final picture before we slice into the big blue sky!

We had a great time again celebrating with the Cheese. Maybe next year I will be more creative, but probably not. It's tough doing two parties back to back.

This picture says it all. That's my Jake!

Happy Easter 2010!

This Easter was a little more relaxed then last years. We weren't trying to move, do the Easter thing and then turn around and host a birthday party. We had a very nice and easygoing holiday this year and I was grateful for it!!

The boys and I painted a few eggs before bedtime.

Some samples of our work!

The baskets ready to go in the morning. This years big treats were a left-handed glove and ball just Reidy's size and an Adventure Bible for Jake.

Happy Easter Boys!!

My boys right before we left for church!

My Jake...

....and my Reidy. We gotta break this habit. Cute...but we still need to break it!

After church, we headed to Bon Bon and Pop Pop's for Easter lunch. Here are all the Vineyard cousin's together. Erik, Jenny, and Blake were supposed to be there, but little Blake was sick.

Luke is David made over!!!

Reidy eager for the photo shoot to end so he could hunt eggs.

Let the hunt begin!

Checking out their loot!

Three generations of Vineyards.

Had I known the eggs contained all this, I would have put my camera down and got in on the action!!

The Bailey's and their new addition!

Happy Easter! Love, The Vineyard Family!

Covenant Easter Egg Hunt

Reidy's little class at Covenant had their Egg Hunt the same day as Jake. I got there just in time to see Reid dart off to find himself some eggs.

Reidy's off...

It was such a pretty day for a hunt. I should know what these purple flowers are, but I don't. They made for great egg coverage and beautiful pictures of our babies!

My little Darling.

Reidy and Rosemary. Reid's classroom had three red-headed children and one red-headed teacher. What are the odds, especially since we red-heads are supposed to be extinct by next year!

Here Reid is with Bennett, Bailey, and sweet Rosemary.

Trying every so hard to crack open his egg!

Evelyn and Ellie

His hard work paid off with an "Air Head".

This one's for you, April. Look in Reid's basket and you will see his artwork. That is his foot print turned upside down with ears added to make the perfect Easter Bunny! He is always bringing home precious artwork from Covenant.

FPDS Egg "Grab"

I really get on a rant sometimes about how Jake and his buddies are really quite spoiled. This years Egg "Grab"..umm.. I mean hunt, was just another example. The parents laid all the plastic eggs out on an open field to be seen by all. Not only did they not have to hunt for their eggs, but when they found them-the eggs were all filled with an assortment of candy!

Back in my day you had to boil the eggs, then dye the eggs, then my parents would hide the eggs. And I mean REALLY hide the eggs. You had to work to get an egg, and many times it might be months before you found them all. You would either run over one with a lawn mower or the smell would lead you to that hard to find egg.

Jacob, Jake, and Cashe getting ready to grab up some eggs.

Mary Robinson and the girls. (I think the little blond in the hot pink is Macy--that's the only little girl Jake has ever admitted was cute--can you blame him?!)

And they're off....

Mrs. Pringle helping the children crack open their eggs.

Mary Robinson and Rebecca Coco. What will we do if Jake and M.R. are not in the same class together next year?!

Jake and Ben

Here they are having their Easter snack. I think it was a Capri Sun and a Krispy Kreme donut.

Jake with his sweet sweet class. I realize I might be a tad bias..but honestly we did have the BEST kindergarten class at FPDS this year! Such a sweet group!!

We were all taking pictures of the children and suddenly they all started shouting for Mrs. Pringle and Mrs. Pittman. They love their teachers!
