Davis' Super Hero Party

Here we are again off to another Spiderman birthday party. This time we are celebrating long time friend Davis' 5th birthday. His mother put together the neatest Super Hero themed party ever. Each child wore their favorite Super Hero costume and Jenny turned her backyard into "Command Central".

Some Highlights!

She had Batman-like signs everywhere.

She had Super Hero target practice on her garage door. Here is Jake taking aim with a water balloon.

After several failed attempts, Jake decided it was easier to just stomp them out!

Next up--Combat Training

Jake listening ever so intently.

This is as close to getting those coveted Karate lessons as Jake is ever going to get.

After graduating from Super Hero Training Camp, Jake received his cape. It even had his initial on the back!

Jenny, of course, made the cake. Is there no end to her talents?

Happy Birthday Davis!

Reidy was there too. He's the life of any party as long as he has his bottle.

I had to add this picture because you can see how blue Jake's eyes are. Neither Xan nor I have blue eyes, so when Jake was born with these beautiful blue eyes it was a wonderful surprise for both of us. Eyes being blue--big surprise, hair being red--no surprise!

And finally, the "Flight Simulator". Davis got a Zip Line for his birthday and Jake couldn't get enough of it!

Reid made a new friend at the party. She was a cutie!

We had a good time and hopefully, at our next party, I will be able to leave the Spiderman costume at home (I'm beginning to root for the bad guys who try to destroy Spiderman!) .

Mission Friends comes to an end!

This year I helped teach Mission Friends at church on Wednesday nights. It was a lot of fun and I got to teach with my friend Missy (a.k.a. Bo's Momma). This past Wednesday was our final night and the children got to play, jump in the Space Jump and eat cupcakes. This is the group playing Duck-Duck-Goose. Some, like Jake, for the first time.

Last minute instructions on the game.

Jake eagerly awaits his turn

Here are the boys still waiting. The girls got to go first. Well girls being like girls are, only picked girls to be "it". The boys were waiting for a while until we stepped in to help out.

The next game we played was "Statue" and I must tell you Jake was pretty good at it. In fact, Xan and I will play it with him now at home. It is really funny to watch Jake run all around the room then freeze like a statue. Maybe this is one of those things that you have to be there for to appreciate the humor of it.

Come Together Time

At Jake's preschool they have "Come Together Time" every morning. All the classes come together and they sing the sweetest most precious songs. Many are Bible songs and they also have their Bible lesson and prayer for the day.

Jake and his classmates

The lady in the grey jacket is Jake's teacher Mrs. Dorian. She is wonderful and we are going to miss her very much next year.

Jake and his classmate Joel.

Ever since the first day of school, Jake has talked NONSTOP about the little blond in the swing. Reagan is his first crush and while she was swinging here, her sandal fell off. Well guess who stopped what he was doing and came flying over to help. Notice her sandal in his hand.

This is Jake helping her put her sandal back on. What a little gentleman!

I wanted to add this picture because Reid has been in the habit of doing this a lot. He semi-stands on his head and looks back at me and laughs. It's very cute!

More Spiderman and Two Birthday Parties

I am not sure what you would call Jake in this outfit, but please know he dressed himself!
Halloween in May

Cakes from Abby's Olympic themed birthday party.

This is Bo one of Jake's favorite friends!

I hope Jake is this attentive in preschool.

Monkey see monkey do.

What an intense face. Even with Jake's efforts the girls won.

Reidy had a thing for the pink tricycle. We won't tell Xan.

Onto the next birthday party. Sweet Madeline from Jake's preschool class had her birthday at Sal and Mookies. It was really good and a lot fun. There was plenty of pizza and plenty of ice cream. This beautiful cake is another cake from Dream Cakes in Brandon. It was made exactly like Madeline's birthday invitation. It looked and tasted fabulous!

Jake picking out his ice cream--chocolate of course!

Jake pretty much had a bad attitude from the time we got there.

Happy Birthday Madeline!

Sweet Madeline, I wish Jake would have had his eyes open.

This is Jake and his bad attitude face.

This is Jake and his sweet happy face (though faking it) after I told him what I was about to do to him in the middle of the restaurant if he didn't shape up!

Watching pizzas being made

We literally were leaving the parking lot and Reidy was out!

We literally were leaving the parking lot and Jake had already gotten into his goodie bag. Surprise Surprise!

After two parties, two cakes, pizza, chocolate ice cream, and a goodie bag full of candy my boys had had it!
