Bowl or Bust! .....Jake says bust!

Saturday the boys and I went to our friend Emily's 5th birthday party at Fannin Lanes. This is the first time Jake ever went bowling. I guess I should say this is the first time Jake ever had the chance to bowl. Did Jake bowl? Not even once. Why, you ask? He didn't like the shoes!! I told him "Jake, everyone here is wearing these shoes". He didn't care. He hated all 5 minutes he had them on his feet. I was not happy. I spent the entire party chasing after the two of them until it was time to go.

Jake studying the shoes.

Jake taking off his shoes and refusing to bowl. Sorry they don't make cooler bowling shoes Jake!

They spent most of their time playing with the water fountains!

Emily's cake from Dream Cakes.

I have to add, and as you can tell, this was a girl birthday party. That didn't sit well with Jake. Especailly since there was a boy party with Spiderman and Monster Trucks next to our lane.
Reid kept going for the exit the entire time. Yet another wonderful trait he picked up from his Father.
These last two pictures are for Aunt Meredith--and she knows why.
(When we were little girls Meredith was heavily addicted to Claw machines! Oh the quarters she wasted! She is currently in therapy)
Show Aunt Meredith how it's done Reidy!

I don't know why Jake is wearing that hat and I don't know why Reidy is chewing on a gun.

So much for a picnic at the park...

Well last week I said I might start a tradition of picnicking in the park on Fridays after school. We didn't make it. But I did get some really cute pictures of Jake in his Chefs hat. When I picked him up from school today he came out wearing this. He is very proud of it.

A boy after my own heart! If you know me then you know I love to clean. And my sweet little Reidy loves to play with the broom, mop, and dust pan!

He makes his Momma so proud!

The Many Faces of Reid

Now I realize that Reidy is my son and that as his mother I may have a tendency to be a bit biased. But come on! This child is precious!! Has he got a smile or has he got a smile?! And I am certain, without a doubt, that if he was not my child I would feel the exact same way!

A Friday picnic with the Boys

When I picked Jake up from school on Friday he told me that he had been a good boy and he deserved to go on a picnic at the park!

Who could argue with that, so here we are picnicking at Winner's Circle Park in Flowood.

Jake was just thrilled to be at the park!!

Reid is just like Xan. The minute he stepped into the sand he hated it! Here he is bending down trying to figure out how to get away from the sand.

Of course nothing detours Jake. He had a great time. This is a little girl he met and befriended. He even invited her to play at our house. He and I are going to work on that.

Reid still hating the sand. He spent 90% of the time sitting on the park bench eating.

Justa swingin'!

Reid has never been on a slide before. So here is big brother showing him how its done.

Reid was not sure about it.

Here is Jake giving him some encouragement.

He wasn't having it!

We had a very nice time and we might make it a Friday tradition....maybe.

Labor Day Weekend in Pictures.

Nothing too eventful this Labor Day weekend. We just stayed around the house waiting for the storm to come in. Here are some pictures of the boys.
Reid filling his Daddy's shoes!

Every time we go over to visit Baby Blake he is asleep.

Jenny and her Daddy Mr. Cathcart with Blake who is, of course, asleep.

My happy boys watching afternoon cartoons.

Our patriotic Reid.

Our Super Reid!

This is my cousin Kenneth from Metairie, LA. He came to our house to ride out the storm. Fortunately, Gustov wasn't too bad and his area seems to be alright.

Bath Time. Jake doesn't look like a little boy to me anymore. I am sure this look is the same look he will give me when he is 15!

My sweetie Reid!
