Savannah

The first week of June my nephew Jared got married in Savannah. I loaded up my boys for a quick trip to Florida to see my parents, then we all headed to Savannah for the wedding. It was a whirlwind trip with much time on the road, one stop at the ER, and lots of good quality time with my family.

The beautiful fountain at Forsyth Park.

They just would not coperate for a picture together!

The park was absolutely beautiful and my pictures do not do it enough justice. Savannah is such a gorgeous place!

Walking through the live oaks.

My parents with the boys. Reid demanding to be held, of course!

More of downtown Savannah.

House from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

I think the little vandals were trying to break in!

A Cathedral

It reminded me so much of New Orleans just on a much grander scale!

Baby "B"

A momma and her boys!
Now onto the wedding...
My nephew's grooms cake.
When I tell y'all my family is nothing but Gator fans...I mean it!!

Jake and Reid played outside the whole time...throwing rocks and getting dirty.

My oldest brother Fred and Baby Blake. (I really couldn't tell you which one is sweeter!!)

I just really like this picture. I think it well represents all personalities.

My little Ja-rarrd! He was the sweetest thing when he was little. So loving, so kind. Now he's over 6 feet and married. Very heartbreaking!

My brother Bruce, father of the groom.

The beautiful bride, Christine. She looked fabulous!!!

Look closely at Reid's eye (he looked like he had been punched in the face). His right arm (which looked like Popeye's arm) and the small of his back were just as swollen. I am almost certain it was a very bad reaction to a mosquito bite, but nevertheless, hours later I would be taking him to the ER at Effingham Hospital, where they gave him an antibiotic and ointment. It is clear to me that whenever I leave town with Reid I need to keep my insurance card handy.

Heading home, we stopped at a gas station that, of course, had a petting zoo!
(Only in Georgia!)

The boys loved it!

Naaaaahhh

Is he not the cutest thing you ever saw?!

I will end with Jake, capturing exactly how we all felt after touring the Southeast in 4 days. We had a great time but it was SOOOOO good to pull into our neighborhood after a 12 hour drive! Now for Vacation Bible School in the morning...ughhh!

Moss Point with The Cummins

At the end of May, we were invited by our dear friends, The Cummins, to their family lake house in Moss Point. We spent two very relaxing days and even made a trip over to Biloxi to visit the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center--a must see for anyone with preschoolers!

The first thing we did was set up the pool.

....and the swing.

The beautiful view from the back porch.

After an afternoon of playing in the yard, we finally got them all feed and bathed. Now we just needed them to go to sleep!

The next morning we made it over to Biloxi for the Discovery Center. This place was great!! So much to see and do. It's a must if you're ever down on the coast with your children!

In the center of the place, they had this thing that allowed the children to climb up to the second and third floor.

Senior Reidy says Buenos días Amigos!
(Reidy would fit right in at the Pearl Walmart in this get-up!!)

Jake & Reidy kayaking down the Mississippi!

Reid was all about some hat wearin' at the Center.

I had to bribe Jake with a toy to get this shot.

We even saw Captain Stubing from the Love Boat!

Jake caught a big one!

Jake just monkeyin' around!!

Priceless! Are those work boots or Go-Go boots?!

Reidy giving me a kiss through the TV screen.

They would climb the stairs and slide down over and over and over

One quick shot before we were back on the road to the real world.
We had such a good time and we can't wait to visit again!!
Thank you Jenny!!!

Farewell to The Carters!

Even though I have known they were leaving for well over a year now, it was still devastating when my sweet friends The Carters packed up and moved to Starkville at the end of May. Will finally finished his residency at UMC and is now one of the Anesthesiologists with Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS (God's country and home of Mississippi State University-Go DAWGS!)
Some of Missy's friends and I put together a Going-Away surprise party at Sal & Mookies (Missy's favorite place to eat in Jackson) for the Carters and their Jackson friends.

A Cake Diva cake that was out of this world in both appearance and taste. Leigh would not give us the straight story on what she paid for the cake, but whatever the amount it was worth it!! Thanks Leigh!!

Guests awaiting the Carters arrival

Miss Abigail

Todd and Leigh Reeves welcomed their 2nd son Gaines weeks before the party.

Here he is with his momma. He was a cutie and barely made a peep the whole time (my kind of baby!).

Typical Jake face

The Carters arrive. I think they were surprised!

What will Jake do without his Bo & Buddy?!

If you look closely, you can see that Mr. John Quitman has lost his first tooth!

Oh the pizza was soooo good!!

Dr. Carter with a cake fit for a new anesthesiologist.

The Hostesses with the mostesses
Laura, me, and Chyna (just missing Leigh-she had to take baby Gaines home)

All the gals. It won't be the same without our Missy!!

And I'm sorry, just one last shot of the cake. Wish I was eating a piece right now!!!

I wish Will, Missy, Bo and Buddy all the very best in Starkville. And I hope they always remember they have a home here in Jackson should they ever want to come back!!!
We love y'all!!

"Sha-mon" forever!

I just couldn't let it go without paying a tribute, albeit a small one, to one of the greatest entertainers of all time! For me, Off the Wall and Thriller will always take me back to my sweet childhood and the wonderful memories of the '80's and Michael Mania. I fell off the Michael bandwagon somewhere in the midst of Bad (though there were a few hits from that album that were fabulous) and watched his decline over the past two decades like everyone else. I will not remember him for being a freak, I will remember him for his phenomenal music! I have added my top 20 Michael favorites to my play list (with a bonus track from Weird Al). I've started it off with my all time Michael favorite Rock with You and followed it up with 19 close seconds. So I implore you, MJ fans of the world, turn on your computer speakers and "Rock the night away" to some exceptionally great music!

A virus....

In my computer that is! Finally after 6 years with our E Machine we finally got a virus. Xan ordered a new Dell today that should be here sometime this weekend (I am currently using my brothers computer). I have SOOOOO much to post and it's killing me--but bear with us and we will be up and running again before you know it. The boys and I are traveling to Florida and to Savannah so I will have lots to show you when we return. In the meantime, try not to fret too much, you know it will all be worth the wait!!!
