Mother Goose Parade

Every year the Kindergartner's of FPDS put on the Mother Goose Parade. Each child chooses a nursery rhyme from the book and dress as that rhyme. From The Real Mother Goose book we choose "Pat-A Cake". It was one of the only rhymes that didn't require Jake to wear tights!

Here's my boy as "Baker's Man Jake". I realize having an apron monogramed may be a bit over the top. But when you have the hook-up with Tamah like I do, you can't help yourself. He was so darn cute the morning he left for the parade!

And here they all come with "Mother Goose" leading the parade. I must tell you that I had no idea what a big deal this parade was, but the streets were lined with spectators from everywhere!

Here are the Three Blind Mice. There were lots of those!

More of the same.

And here's my little Baker's man whose hat had fallen flat.

Mr. John Quitman as Rain, Rain, Go Away. His, for me, was the most original one out there. Good job, Laura!!

Each Kindergarten teacher (other then the Mother Goose) was one of the Piggies from the nursery rhyme "Five Toes". They looked great!

Mrs. Pittman in disguise.

Jake with the "Queen of Hearts" herself, Abby Huff.

Let me tell you about the French Loaf Jake brought as a prop. You would have thought the children in Jake's class were starved on a daily basis. Piranha's do not do as much damage to their prey as those children did to that bread. After those children worked that bread over, there was not a crumb to be found!! In all my 32 years I have never seen anything like it! They were like vultures surrounding the table were the bread was, all fighting to get their share!

Mary Robinson and her piece of the action.

Jake with his buddies from class.

The Cow Jumping Over the Moon was a pretty good one, too!

Jake and John Quitman

Free at last! Baker's Man Jake was ready to go home and start Spring Break!
If you are considering sending your child to FPDS, start thinking now what your little one might be in The Mother Goose Parade. It's never too soon to start planning!

Turning 3 with The Cheese

This year we celebrated Reid's 3rd birthday with the rat! Chuck E Cheese, that is. It is his and Jake's all time favorite hang out!

Say "Cheese" Reidy!! ...get it, Chuck E "Cheese".

He was so excited that his big day had finally arrived!!

All week leading up to the party, Jake boasted of his skills at this driving game. Here he is showing Bon Bon and Pop Pop how it's done!

Davis Cummins all big and grown up!

Get used to seeing these two together. They were a matching set at the party.

Cousin Blake. This was his first outing to CEC. He hasn't been back since!

Miss Rosemary, Reid's best buddy from Covenant

They played every game together.

Miss Ellen, for once playing something other then the horse riding game.

Mrs. Tamah and Abbs

John Quitman..or as Reid calls him "Ja Kiffmon"

Big hug for Daddy!!

Holding steady for that perfect shot!

This really turned out to be such a sweet picture. Xan keeps it in his office.

I have said it plenty of times before--you can never have too many pictures of my cupcakes!!

Time to get the party started and time for Reid to get out of dodge!
What I failed to mention about Reid and Chuck E Cheese is that while Reid LOVES to hang out at CEC and play the games--he LOATHES the actual Chuck E. Just the sight of him makes Reid scream like a little girl!

You can't see this picture very well, but trust me....terror is in Reid's eyes!

We tried to calm him with the CEC crown....

....but the only thing that made him finally participate in his party was when Chuck E left the building!
Make a wish (I think he did and it came true when Chuck E left!!)

Ahhhh.....finally I can relax!

"It's great to be me!" says Reid. What a doll baby!
(Looks like someone snagged a gumball off that red cupcake!)

Sweet friends!!

The birthday boy tore into his blue cupcake!!

Tuckered out from a big day at The Cheese!!

All Reid's loot from his friends.
We had a very good time and I had a sinking feeling that it would not be the last Chuck E Cheese Vineyard birthday party of the year.

Reidy's Cupcakes!

Reid had his party this year at Chuck E Cheese--so there was not an actual theme. I choose an invitation that had a "3" on it with lots of primary colors. When deciding what to do for the cake, this was the best I could come up with and I thought it turned out pretty good!

Each cupcake had a Bazooka gumball placed in the center!

Some were chocolate and some were vanilla. Always good to offer options!

They were eye-catching!

These cupcakes turned out to be some of my favorite!
